Policy Last Updated: 2008-03-27 17:29:13
  • There are no refunds after the schedule is complete.
  • Teams should arrive as early as possible. Matches are strictly limited to one hour beginning at the scheduled start time and ending in time for the next match to begin on schedule.
  • If a team does not show up to play, that team automatically forfeits the match. The first game will be forfeited at 15 minutes after the start time, the second game will be forfeited 10 minutes later, and the entire match will be forfeited 35 minutes after the start time.
  • At the start time, the team ready to play will receive 1 point for each minute their opponent is late. There will be no warm-up for the late team. The clock/point credit stops when the late team is on the court ready to play.
  • If for any reason the scheduled match is not played, the court space still belongs to the scheduled teams. Either of the teams can use it for scrimmages, practice, etc. Also, if the scheduled match is finished before the one hour time limit, the remaining court time can be used by those teams.
  • Everyone will use rally scoring (speed points, points for play) which includes let service. The first and second games will be to 25 points with a 27 point cap. The third game will be the first team to 15 wins (Ex: 15-14 wins).
  • If the match is not over within an hour, the third game will be awarded to the team that is ahead at the end of the hour. During the last 5 minutes of the final game, time-outs or delays of the game will not be allowed.
  • Court monitors are in charge of the court and are empowered to take any action necessary to keep the court running on schedule. They will keep score, groom the court if they deem necessary, and settle disputes over rules infractions (sets, touches, interference under the net, balls in or out of bounds). Their decisions are final.
  • All teams that cannot play on the scheduled night must make up their match ahead of time to ease record keeping confusion. The captains of the teams must arrange for a makeup. If the opposing team cannot play at a makeup, but can play at the scheduled time, the team wishing to reschedule the match must forfeit.
  • If a team fails to show at their scheduled match and fails to notify their opponent, that team must pay the opponent a $5.00 fine before their next match. If this fine is not paid, the team cannot play their next match. Three failures by a team to notify their opponent of a match absence will result in league suspension.
  • Matches are NOT cancelled for rain unless there is lightning in the area. Even in case of lightning, matches will be delayed and resumed when the lightning stops. Matches may be cancelled due to court flooding. Call (717) 975-1974 for weather updates after 1pm on the day of your match.
